Over 40 years as the premier resource for soccer referees in the San Diego Area!
The Laws of the Game are world wide rules for the wonderful game of soccer (football). However some of these laws are adapted locally to the youth levels and tournament play. So as a referee you first have to know the IFAB Laws of the Game but then you also have to know what are the local adaptations for those leagues and tournaments.

It is always good to review the LOTG as well as the specific rules for each tournament or age bracket before your games. You can either download the free IFAB Mobile app to your phone, dowload a free PDF copy onto your computer or purchase a hard copy book of the latest IFAB 2024 rules in any referee store online.

Plan to arrive at your field no later than 30min to kickoff. Call your fellow crew members if they are not there 20min till kickoff. Have your CalSouth Referee ID handy, in case the team manager or coach asks for your CalSouth ID. **Coach/Manager are the ONLY ones allowed to ask to see your CalSouth Referee ID. And they may only ask BEFORE the game, not after. They are NOT allowed to take a photo of you or your ID.** IF this happens, you are to contact your assignor, Keoni Owens (Director of Assignments), or Dennis Wickham (SDCSRA President) IMMEDIATELY or NO LATER than immediately after the game. We will not tolerate ANY form of Referee Abuse or Harassment. Below is the link for the game durations and rules for each league.
